Pastor Dorry was appointed to Lima UMC in July of 2018 in her 13th year of professional ministry. Previously, she served three different churches in Bucks County (in the communities of Bristol, Pipersville and Newtown). She is a fan of the Strengthsfinder tool (her top five strengths are learner, ideation, positivity, connectedness and woo), and she loves to help people find rewarding and significant ways to use their gifts and talents. She gets a lot of satisfaction from working with young adults, developing clergy, and anyone who wants to use their influence to make the world a better place. Most mornings you can find her in the church office, sometimes accompanied by her miniature labradoodle, Jenkins. In the afternoons, she is often out in the community, learning more about Delaware County and enjoying its many unique offerings.
Pastor Dorry is a graduate of Grove City College, holds an MBA from Temple University, and graduated from Eastern Baptist (now Palmer) Seminary with her MDiv degree. She has been married for over thirty years to her college sweetheart, Phil, who works in civil litigation for Montgomery County. They have two young adult children and a recent addition, a son-in-law. Dorry is excited about working with all ages at Lima UMC, and has a special interest in helping the church connect with “newcomers” of all types.
